Why Cybersecurity

My name is Hiroshi; I am a Cybersecurity Enthusiast with over 12 years of experience in the ICS field. I love anything from coding to HMI / UI design, penetration testing, and cloud computing. Follow me on my journey to becoming a cybersecurity professional in the ICS field.

These blog posts are not just about my personal projects and labs, but about the practical knowledge and skills I've gained from my experience in the Industrial Refrigeration ICS field. I hope that by sharing these, I can provide a valuable learning reference for professionals who aspire to get involved in this industry.

Also, you can follow my journey as I expand my general knowledge in IT cybersecurity and ICS/OT cybersecurity. When it comes to the InfoSec world, I am just getting started. As a CompTIA Security+ holder, I have my eyes set on obtaining the CompTIA Pentest+ next, but I also have ambitions to get my ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Fundamental Specialist cert. This later cert will be challenging as it is more extensive than the CompTIA certs I am familiar with and there is less information and resources on it out there. But as I find information throughout my journey, I plan to share it here, so make sure to revisit my blogs occasionally to get more details if this interests you!

I will share some of the personal lab setups I use for development and general IT penetration testing, and I plan to get my feet wet and set up an ICS/OT penetration testing lab as well. I can't share the details of the development I do for my employer, but I plan to make easy-to-follow custom control projects that you can also follow if you are interested in learning the basics of ladder logic and structured text programming.

Finally, I aim to continue increasing knowledge in the ICS and Cybersecurity fields to protect our ICS / OT infrastructures and positively impact society.
